If your work involves ongoing service to others, particularly in challenging or under-resourced contexts, or collective organising for social change, you are very welcome to apply.

Applications are read with care, with attention to your current work or involvement, your reasons for wanting to attend, and how the retreat might support you at this time.

We aim to bring together a group where people can both benefit from and contribute to the shared experience.

Applications are open on a rolling basis. We recommend applying as early as possible for your preferred retreat, as places are limited and often offered in advance.

If you are offered a place, you will receive an email with next steps and a short window to confirm your booking.

Due to the number of applications we receive, we’re not always able to respond individually to everyone.

You’ll be asked to confirm your place by paying a refundable deposit of £300 within a short timeframe.

If the place is not confirmed within this window, it may be offered to another applicant.

Yes. The deposit is returned to you on departure from the retreat, provided you attend. If this presents a barrier, you are very welcome to get in touch.

As places are limited, we’re not always able to offer one to everyone who applies.

If you’ve indicated that you’re happy to be considered for future retreats, we may keep your application on file and be in touch if a suitable place becomes available.

Yes, you are very welcome to apply again, particularly if your circumstances change or you are interested in a different retreat.

No. The retreats are open to both experienced writers and those who are simply curious to explore their creative voice. What matters most is a willingness to engage with the process.

If a retreat isn’t showing on the form, bursary places for that date have already been filled. You’re very welcome to apply for another retreat or for future dates.
